Manufacturer Spotlight – Flying W Pastics

Flying W Plastics is a manufacturer of polyethylene pipe products for water, gas, oil, sewer, geothermal, and conduit applications that is based in Glennville, WV. They maintain their own fleet of trucks to provide customers throughout the United States and Canada with prompt and cost-efficient shipping and logistics support. Established in 1984, Flying W Plastics services a broad industry base, including oil & gas, municipal & industrial, telecommunications, commercial & residential construction, and more.

The WVU Industrial Extension has been a friend to the Flying W Plastics for several years. Most of the interaction has been with John Frazer Ph.D., CSP, Manager, Industrial Hygiene & Occupational Safety-Health at the WVU Industrial Extension John has conducted mock OSHA Inspections, written Waste Management and Emergency Action programs, and has provided function-specific classroom and hands-on employee training on Portable Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Action, and Lockout/Tagout. Nick Dent, Safety Director said, “Flying W Plastics, Inc. would like to thank the WVU Industrial Extension and John Frazer for their expert training on these topics and their upmost professionalism along the way.”

Flying W Plastics has big plans for the future. They are in the final stages of opening a new facility in Florida that will make it possible for them to serve the Southern and Midwest regions of the country.
